This elegant glass bowl was found close to the city wall on the southern side of the city of Al Baleed. Most probably it's the work of skilled artisans in Damascus and it can be dated to between the 1100 and 1300 AD. It is intact and in an excellent state of conservation, with beautiful painted motifs and gold decorations still visible. (AP)
