This fragment can be identified as a hollow clay “toy” in the shape of a bird: this kind of artifact is well known from Harappan sites, and often comprised applied wheels which allowed its movement. It was realized in a red fabric with a light brown slip above which a black paint was applied. The fragment also shows the presence of a hole running from the inside of the neck to the beak: this was probably meant for the insertion of a thread with which the toy could be pulled. (MdE)
